Hazuki Japanese Restaurant – London Chandos Street

Did you know that it’s been ONE YEAR since Miss Pinky and I went to Tokyo!! Wow. I still remember our trip, a spectacular trip and I really, really hope to go back. Miss Pinky still talks about the ramen over there as she enjoyed it so much. The tonkotsu broth in London does not compare!
Well, I was craving for oyakodon – the chicken and egg dish. I have been in search for it and finally decided to go to a restaurant to try the “London” version at Hazuki Japanese Restaurant in Chandos Street which is just next door to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery.

It was not very busy when I walked in since they open at lunch from 12 till 3 and reopen at 5pm… But I could hear some customers who sat at the top floor who I think were in the theatrical business as I heard some operatic singing!!

I had the oyakodon lunch set, which came with miso soup. Not sure why I ordered a diet coke. The sauce was sweet, but not how I remembered it when I was in Tokyo. I think the egg is supposed to be runny but this one wasn’t. 😦

I was hungry and so I ordered a separate plate of vegetable tempura.

So short lunch came to £20.40. A little expensive. Maybe I shouldn’t have asked for the tempura!

My geeky rating: 4/5

Good points:
– Polite service
– Easy to get to
– Food was ok, not the greatest though!

Bad points:
– A little on the expensive side
