Forgot to say in my last post that I passed the HSK 3 Mandarin exam! I achieved 92%. It was quite nerve-racking trying to find out when the results would be out but so pleased to say that two months of hard work paid off!! LOL. HSK 4 must be studied for at least 6 months I think… 😊
Rewatching the Korean drama, Let’s Eat Season 1… It’s made me want to blog right this instant! Heheheh.
One evening I was supposed to go to the pub to enjoy a leaving party and a colleague going on maternity leave… Unfortunately it was a week of train chaos as it snowed one weekend. When it snows in the UK, the whole transport system is in chaos. So the pub night out on this Monday evening was cancelled and I had to find some other means of food.
I chose Wow! Sushi. I hadn’t been around East Street Market for a bit, and I had stumbled on this place however it was closed as this place opens around 12pm. It was a great opportunity to go!
As you can see it’s a takeaway, and so the peeps make the food when you order. I sat patiently in the available seating area… was a little hungry!!
I ordered all of this, but the miso soup came free!
The main bento I ordered was the eel bento box. It came with some hot rice, really fresh salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, salad, wasabi, pickled ginger and soy sauce. It tasted amazing. The eel was nice and sweet. There were no bones and seasoned quite well. The rice was plain which took on the eel’s sauce quite nicely. But the most enjoyable part of this bento was the fresh sashimi! Wow, I didn’t expect it to be so good!! 😀
Next hre is the chicken karaage (fried chicken). As you may know, nearly every Japanese restaurant I go to I would order karaage! There were a few spicy pieces in there, but I really enjoyed it. ^_^
And one last item I had to order was this tamago (sweet egg) sushi. Tasted nice! Thought the rice might be hard but it was perfectly ok!!
And the miso soup… nothing too special… just soup!
Total cost came to around £25 (if I remember correctly)… Well having all of this as takeaway was nice for one person… I’ll order less next time.
My geeky rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) – because I live close and able to enjoy the food from when it was made. ^_^
Good points:
– Polite service
– Fresh food
Bad points:
– A little expensive but worth it as a takeaway
