It’s been 12 years since London hosted the Olympics. That’s when I first started Instagramming and remember at the time I still went to work, and everyone in the UK seemed to have avoided the areas, people didn’t commute into work, and the London was practically deserted at the time… well that’s what the media told us to do, and we did! 🤣🤣🤣
So a couple of months ago, I met up with Miss Money and her dog, Mint. The dog needed exercise because apparently she put on weight. Really? She seemed like a normal Yorkshire Terrier to me. Excited as always but so nervous with noise and people. She’s not even 1 years old in human years yet… understandable.
I wanted to get the Elizabeth Line from Liverpool Street Station but it looked like it wasn’t running on the day (or maybe it was… I should have asked), so I ended up going on the Central Line. It was so hot!
Once I finally reached Stratford, it became a cat and mouse game as I tried to find the two. I ended up standing in front of M&S…
We walked around for a while and taking small breaks in between. Thankfully I had breakfast otherwise I would’ve been hungry all day long.
When we got near to the stadium we we realised that there was some sort of an event going on to commemorate the 10 years since the Olympics… It was also my first time seeing the Olympic rings by the way. I had never thought of going to see it on purpose. 😅
As there wasn’t much to do, and it was getting crowded, we headed back to North Greenwich. I hadn’t realised that people like to oggle their eyes over dogs and try to play with them (when obviously the owner dislikes it). When I see dogs these days, I divert my eyes straight in front to avoid the owner having to pull their dogs. Mint attracts a lot of people… Oh well Miss Money. You might have to avoid crowds somehow!
Once we had reached to North Greenwich Station, it was another long walk via the Thames up to Greenwich… Mint has never walked that part before, but it was a good walk.
We ended up sitting near the Thames eating some Thai food from a stall in Greenwich Market and drinking bubble tea from Gong Cha. I haven’t had Thai food for a while. So happy that we ended up choosing this… I was so hungry that I didn’t even take a picture of my drink and food. 😅😅😅
That day, I ended up in traffic whilst going home. London Bridge was closed for roadworks… I also walked over 20,000 steps that day!
London’s Summer of 2022 was too hot! Shortly after the heatwave, I somehow ended up going to the Thamesmead Festival in Southmere Park. (Traffic was horrible on that day).
I also completed a computer game – Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series – part one (easy level… but it took me 10 hours to complete!). I want to play the second one, but might wait until I’m stressed to the point that I need to play a game.
Bye bye summer holidays! I’ll see you again next year!!
